In recent times, the Indian cryptocurrency market has witnessed a notable transformation. Stricter regulations from Indian authorities have prompted traders to favor local exchanges over Binance, marking a significant shift in the crypto landscape.
With the tightening of regulations, domestic alternatives like Koinpark have become the go-to choice for traders. The surge in deposits moving from Binance to these indigenous exchanges signals a notable shift in trader preferences.
India exchanges, including Koinpark, CoinDCX, CoinSwitch Kuber, and WazirX, are experiencing a positive turn of events. This comes as a welcome relief following challenges posed by a 2022 taxation regime that initially drove traders towards offshore options.

The recent removal of Binance's app, along with seven other foreign exchanges, from Apple Inc.'s App Store at the request of the Indian government has created an opportune moment for Indian exchanges. This move positions them for an expanded market share.
Koinpark reported a substantial increase of approximately 80 percent in deposit inflows just four days after Indian authorities issued a compliance notice to offshore platforms. Other platforms, like CoinDCX, also witnessed an immediate influx of deposits, according to CEO Sumit Gupta.
While Binance states its commitment to "inform constructive policy-making," questions about deposit outflows remain unanswered. Estimates from Indian exchanges indicate that a significant portion of recent inflows, around 70 percent for Koinpark and WazirX, and approximately 40 percent for CoinDCX, originated from Binance.
The Indian government's move against offshore exchanges follows months of lobbying by local competitors. They argued that new taxes introduced in 2022 created an uneven playing field. The late December notice from India’s Financial Intelligence Unit accused nine exchanges of operating illegally, prompting them to explain their compliance.
The Financial Intelligence Unit requested the information ministry to block the nine platforms’ websites locally, rendering their URLs inactive in India. However, their apps remain available on Google Play in the country, showcasing a nuanced situation.
In a significant development for the crypto landscape, Koinpark, a reliable and secure cryptocurrency exchange in India has become the preferred destination for several prominent communities, including RoyalQ, Polygon, Beldex, TLC, BFIC, Gari, and Baby Grok. The driving force behind this collective move is Koinpark's status as an FIU registered company, ensuring a compliant and secure trading environment. This strategic alignment reflects a shared commitment to regulatory adherence and has solidified Koinpark's position as a trustworthy platform, attracting diverse communities seeking a reliable and compliant space for our crypto endeavors.
